Event

Food for thought ! Seeding responsible consumption & production

Date

5 April 2022

Location

The Kit, Royal Tropical Insitut
Amsterdam

What will the future of our food system look like? What are the threats and opportunities for feeding the fast growing world population in a sustainable way?

Food systems cannot be resilient to crisis such as covid-19 if they are not sustainable. We need to redesign our food systems which are currently responsible for almost  1/3 of global GHG emissions, consume large amounts of natural resources ( ⅓ of all food produced is wasted), resulting in biodiversity loss and do not allow fair economic returns and livelihoods for all actors.
Putting our food systems on a sustainable path also brings new opportunities for operators all across the food value chain. New technologies and scientific discoveries, combined with increasing public awareness and demand for sustainable food, will benefit all stakeholders.  We are once again delighted to announce Tieneke Breemhaar, will be the seminar moderator.
In keeping with previous seminars,  there will be time to listen, reflect, ask questions and network.  We hope to have the pleasure of your participation at this event.

Koninklijk Instituut voor de Tropen – KIT (please plan to arrive from 14:30 for registration). It will be followed by a networking reception from 17:30 to 19:30.
