St. Patrick’s Day 17 March, 2022.

Following a number forced postponements due to Covid during the past two years,  the Ireland Netherlands Business Association St. Patrick’s Day festivities for 2022 was a celebratory event.  As a community we relished the opportunity to reconnect once more in person and celebrate together our Irish heritage in the Sofitel Hotel in Amsterdam on March 17th.  As the adage goes “Third time’s the charm!” ☘️
The theme this year was connection, or “Naisc” in Irish, which was fitting, given that the tagline of the Ireland Netherlands Business Association is “making connections”. Over a few hours new connections and friendships were made, whilst others were renewed.  It is these networks that have led to such growth in trade between both countries.
We were very fortunate to have Thimon De Jong as our guest speaker. His research into the effects of the pandemic and ubiquitous use of digital devices, and its impact on individuals and organizations was insightful and thought provoking.
Speaking of thoughts, it was with mixed feelings that we gathered last night: the sheer joy of being able to reconnect in person, combined with the knowledge of the terrible events occurring elsewhere in Ukraine.
We would like to thank all our members and guests for their kind donations, as we raised €3,000 over the course of the night, which will go directly towards aiding humanitarian efforts on the ground in Ukraine 🇺🇦. Our hope for the future, is that they too will be able to reconnect with their communities and loved ones.  Particular thanks to our generous sponsors for the wonderful raffle prizes, Aer Lingus, Embassy of Ireland The Netherlands, Bord Bia, Tourism Ireland, Veolia BV, Ambassador Rogers, and Ms Kevin Doris Ejon.
